The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Friday asked its official to avoid using social networking websites like Orkut and Facebook in the office.
The MHA has released a circulation in this regard and asked its official to restrain from surfing social networking sites during the office hour due to security reasons. The Home Ministry officials are also asked that don’t upload any sensitive information on their social networking accounts, which include, Orkut, Facebook and Gmail. The move was taken following intelligence inputs that militants are hiring professional hackers to steal the sensitive data.According to the sources, the ministry is also planning effective monitoring of social networking websites in the country.
